Fun ways to answer the phone

It's very good to have Gye Greene back home. Over the last few days, we've been thinking of fun ways to answer the phone. Here are our results, and their explanations or sources:

-"Jello!" (Sounds like "hello")

-"Hit me!" (Hip radio D.J.)

-"K-N-O-W -- you're on the air!" (Radio D.J.)

-"Moshi-moshi!" (Japanese 101)

-"I'm here." (Just sounded good)

-"Yankee." (Sounds like "thank-ye?")

-"Go ahead." (Derived from morse code)

-"K" (morse code for "ready")

-"[long, short, long]" (whistle it; morse code for "K", which is "ready")

-[gushing] "Thank goodness you've called!!!" (without waiting to see who it is; to mess with people)

-"Connected." (Maybe like an old-time telephone operator?)

-"I'm in." (The Matrix)

-"Yeah?" (Like a Goodfella/gangster; M in Seattle says it)

-"This is Bob." (or whatever your name is; like you're at work)

-"555-1212." (i.e. state your phone number; the Lady's dad does this)

-[flat, bold] "Yes, Commisioner.?" (t.v. Batman [Adam West])

-"Who's there?" (to mess with people)

...and finally:

-"Dot-com?"

These are good. Here's a few more ideas:

"You rang?" (in a deep voice like Lurch from the Adam's Family)

"Bueno" (the Mexicans use this instead of "hola")

Echolalia...just repeat whatever they say.

"Joe's Pizza...20 minutes or your pizza is free"

"Joe's Mortuary...you stab 'em, we slab 'em"

"Is this the party to whom I am speaking?"

"Hi, is Frank there?"

"Congratulations! You've just won a dream vacation for two! Please dial nine for more information"

"Speak"

"Can you hear me now?" (annoying cell phone dude from Verizon commercial)

"Y'ello" (Homer Simpson)

"Hoi hoi" (Mr. Burns)

"Collect call from Mr. Bill...will you accept the charges?"

"Password please"

"God here..." (in deep voice)

"Your call did not go through...please hang up and try again".

"What?" (in annoyed voice)

"I have been waiting Obi-Wan" (in Darth Vader voice)

"Can you hold please" (then hum some elevator music)

Some good exit lines:

"May the Force be with you"

"Live long an prosper"

"Come back soon y'all, hear?"

-K.

"Go Ahead" is also what one says when one is done typing and the other person can start typing when using the phone with a TDD (TeleType Device for the Deaf). For example, "This is Giovanni, Go Ahead." Or abbreviated "GA." ~ Giovanni

I got this from the Tv Series, House M.D.

"House's House of whining, state your complaint!"

Say it quickily, and its hilarious.

I like to answer by saying:

This is Josh, your friendly neighborhood black man. How may I assist you today?
