Two more Australian differences

The Lady had a large headache last night, so Gye Greene, The Bub, and myself drove out to get takeaway pizza.

Two Australian things that I am still not used to:

(1) You are not allowed free ''near-turns'' (in the U.S., no ''free right on red'').

(2) Hour-long t.v. shows start on the half hour, not on the hour. (Ex: ''The Apprentice'' starts at 10:30pm, not at 10pm or 11pm.)

Also: Last night, the start of ''The Apprentice'' was delayed by ten or fifteen minutes for special Live Footage of Princess Mary of Denmark (but formerly of Australia!) and Prince Frederik emerging from the hospital with their firstborn.

I commented to The Lady that when Prince Frederik gets to change the nappies, it will bring a new meaning to ''The Royal 'Wee'.''

But, she was not amused.
