Movie review: ''The Pacifier''
Last night The Lady suggested we rent a movie, and GG felt he had been sufficiently diligent that week to participate. We rented “The Pacifier” (2005). It stars Vin Diesel as a Navy Seal who is assigned protection duty to five children while the mother is away -- and ends up playing nanny until the mother’s return.
Every time Vin Diesel’s character said “I’m a seal,” Gye Greene exclaimed, “No he’s not! He’s a human being! Seals have small black noses! (etc.)”
The movie is a little cheezy and a little thin, but harmless. It’s essentially family-friendly
It also has the fellow who plays “Robert, the older brother” in “Everybody Loves Raymond” and the thirty-something mother from “The Gilmore Girls.”
Again, the movie is not brilliant, but harmless, and has some funny bits. Get it if you want to rent a movie but no one can agree on a movie, and/or nothing else looks good.
(note: Here in Aussie-land, they refer to baby pacifiers as ''Dummies.'' But I don't think ''The Dummy'' would have worked as well for an Action-Comedy movie.)
