Song #2 -- intentionally banal lyrics

This second song is called ''All I Want''. Gye Greene wrote it, played the instruments, and did the vocals; I programmed the drum machine and helped with the recording chores (e.g. mic placement).

GG says he was attempting the most cliched lyrics possible, although some turned out rather original (e.g. ''I like you swell''). This is more on the ''punk rock'' end of our spectrum of musical styles.

A song from GG & TG

Gye Greene has graciously allowed me to blog about some of our older songs, two which he discovered some still-valid links. (This also saves himself the time to introduce them.)

Which to link to first? We have four available. Perhaps the most meloncholy first...

This one is called ''Psych Smile.'' GG wrote this back in college, about a girl in his Psych class. A very nice, smiley girl -- but one whom he knew deep down was not the ''right'' girl for him. But still...

The instrumentation is intentionally kept simple. It's a bit of a musical haiku, really -- not verse, no chorus -- just one short paragraph.

Pizza mantra

Gye Greene drove out for takeaway pizza last night. The docket (i.e. receipt) lists the toppings. Apparently, for a standard pizza, you get four units of topping, distributed how you like. For example, The Lady's preference was two units of onion, and two of ground beef.

To me, the docket read like some sort of chef's mantra:

Mushroom,
Mushroom;
Onion,
Beef!

Onion,
Onion;
Beef!
Beef!

Perhaps there's a song in there...
